Bird flu is an infection caused by
bird flu viruses, which occur naturally among birds. Bird flu is
communicable disease among birds and can make some domesticated
birds, including chickens, ducks, and turkeys, very sick and kill
them.
Although the risk from bird influenza is generally
low in human, the chances of bird-to-human transmissions of bird
flu virus can not be ignored. The most prominent factor responsible
for human mutation of bird flu virus is contact with infected poultry
or surfaces contaminated with secretion or excretions from infected
birds. However, it is yet to be determined whether bird flu is spread
from person to person.
